Rizaini Mokhtar (founder), venture into the world of chocolate began as a way to cope with anxiety and grief following her departure from the financial sector to focus on motherhood. It all started with homemade chocolates for friends and family as she established the home-based brand “Chocolate Story” in 2014.

Challenges of Cherita
Despite facing overwhelming challenges running the business alone, she decided to relaunch “Chocolate Story” after a career setback, teaming up with Suri Daman and 6 years later they rebranded their brand as “Cherita Chocolate,” emphasizing on local flavors and sourcing from various Malaysian regions. Soon,their products expanded to chocolate clusters, cookies, and gifts, with packaging conceptualized by Rizaini’s daughter, Nadiah Aminuddin. With all businesses came marketing obstacles, and Cherita Chocolate collaborates with organizations like Persatuan Pembangunan Artisans (PPA) were pivotal. Fast forward, Cherita Chocolate now operates a store in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam and booths in prominent locations such as Publika Shopping Gallery and KLIA.
